Cynthia Weiss Stein has over 20 years of experience providing legal services to family law clients. Ms. Stein takes the time to get to know her clients and understand what is important to them. She is a skilled negotiator and advocate. Her philosophy of practice is to offer practical, solution-oriented legal advice to guide her clients through the difficult issues involved in family law matters. To that end, Ms. Stein works with her clients to explore their options, thinking creatively to develop solutions, in order to obtain the best outcome to meet their individual concerns and circumstances.

Ms. Stein graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1988. Following her graduation from law school and prior to joining Shemtob Law, P.C., Ms. Stein was a judicial clerk and staff attorney for The Superior Court of Pennsylvania, serving the Honorable Vincent A. Cirillo, President Judge. In 1989, she joined the law firm, McTighe Weiss, where she practiced both civil litigation and family law, and became a shareholder in 1994. In 2000, she moved her growing family law practice to Masterson Braunfeld, where she joined as a partner. During her years at these firms, she gained significant civil trial and family law experience. She also received training and certification as a family law mediator while developing a significant collaborative family law practice. In 2002, Ms. Stein opened her own law office, practicing exclusively in the area of family law. In 2011, Ms. Stein joined Shemtob Law, P.C.

Ms. Stein is a devoted community volunteer. Throughout her professional life, she has served on many boards and committees, both law-related and community-related, dedicated to helping people. She currently serves as a member of the founding board of Mitzvah Circle Foundation, an organization that supports individuals and families, locally and nationally, in times of individual crisis, poverty, homelessness and serious illness. Over the years, Ms. Stein has committed significant energy to volunteer community service for charitable organizations, including Tiferet Bet Israel Synagogue, Camp Ramah in the Poconos, Golden Slipper Club and Charities, Golden Slipper Camp for Boys and Girls, Laurel House and the Montgomery Bar Association.

Ms. Stein lives in Montgomery County with her husband and two children.
